Unlock Resoluion Success with yoga…

Hey, busy mum! you want to make this year different and achieve your desires, let’s discover the ancient power to unlock resolution and success with yoga.

As the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Day, the promise of a fresh start and achieving our goals is palpable. But, let’s be honest, for busy mums, squeezing a New Year’s Resolution on top of the everyday to-dos can be daunting, making it easy to give up before even trying. What if I told you you can simply unlock solutions to success with yoga?

Unlocking Yoga’s Power for Resolutions Success

Yoga is an ancient practice that goes beyond just the physical poses you may have seen on a mat. This holistic practice is based on balance, harmony, and self-awareness, helping you to cultivate physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. By unlocking your inner power and embracing self-mastery, Yoga can lead you to become the hero of your own story and ultimately live a more fulfilled life.

Therefore, Yoga Asana can be the gateway to unlocking a deeper understanding of our bodies and revitalising our physical well-being, and you can easily begin your yoga journey by practising Yoga Asana(it is what I did, too).  Yet, Yoga Asana is just one branch of the ancient yoga philosophies; Yama and Niyama, two of the eight limbs of yoga, offer us the insight to take ownership of our lives and unlock your resolution success.

Yamas (Ethical Guidelines):

The Yamas serve as a set of ancient, noble rules for do’s and dont’s, providing a moral framework for personal and collective behaviour. By embracing this age-old wisdom, we can find balance and harmony in our lives and the world around us: There are five Yamas;

1. Ahimsa (Non-Violence):

Cultivate kindness and compassion towards yourself and others.

2. Satya (Truthfulness):

Be honest in thoughts, words, and actions.

3. Asteya (Non-Stealing):

Avoid taking what doesn’t belong to you, not only in material possessions but also in terms of time and energy.

4. Brahmacharya (Moderation):

Practice moderation in all aspects of life, including relationships and consumption

5. Aparigraha (Non-Greed):

Let go of excessive desires and attachments.

Practical Tips for Yamas

Reflect on how you can incorporate balance into your daily life to achieve success in resolutions. Consider integrating activities that help you to feel grounded, connected, and at peace with yourself and the world around you.

  • You can take moments to pause and appreciate nature.
  •  Engage in meaningful conversations and activities with friends and family to bolster your sense of community and strengthen your relationships.
  • Create space for yourself to relax and be still, allowing your mind and body to recharge

By taking these steps, you will set yourself up for success in your journey towards resolutions.

Niyamas (Personal Disciplines):

The Niyamas act as the cornerstone of your self-improvement journey, providing you with the tools to make meaningful change. Through these practices, you can discover new depths of your being and build a life of purpose and fulfilment. By utilising the Niyamas, you can strengthen your awareness of yourself and the world around you; allowing your character to blossom with grace, wisdom, and conviction. There are also five Niyamas:

1. Saucha (Purity):

Maintain cleanliness, both externally and internally.

2. Santosha (Contentment):

Cultivate contentment and gratitude for the present moment.

3. Tapas (Self-Discipline):

Embrace self-discipline to achieve personal and spiritual goals.

4. Svadhyaya (Self-Study):

Engage in self-reflection and continuous learning.

5. Ishvara Pranidhana (Surrender to a Higher Power):

Surrender your ego and acknowledge a higher force in your life.

Practical Tips for Niyamas

Create small habits and rituals that cultivate self-awareness and promote personal growth.

  • Make a conscious effort to take time each day for activities that help you tune into your inner self and stay true to your goals. For example, start your day with a few minutes of yoga or meditation.
  • Take a walk outside to be at one with nature.
  • Keep a journal to track your progress.

These simple yet powerful habits can tremendously impact your overall happiness, growth, and success.

Yoga is an incredible journey of self-discovery, enabling us to harmonise our lives and reach a state of inner peace. Incorporating it into your daily routine can be incredibly rewarding; with each step brings transformative benefits to both body and mind.

From my experience, I believe that with small steps and dedication, you can unlock your resolutions to success and achieve your desired New Year resolutions before the end of the year.
